Your Responsibilities

We are in search of a highly qualified and seasoned professional to take on the role of Lead Internal Audit Specialist. In this capacity, you will be instrumental in assessing the efficiency of our internal controls, risk management strategies, and adherence to regulations and policies.

Your duties will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive audits and offering insightful recommendations to improve operational effectiveness and reduce risks.
  • Engaging with various levels of team members and external stakeholders to understand business processes.
  • Participating in intricate audits following established auditing standards.
  • Performing interviews, collecting necessary documentation, executing tests, and recording observations during audit fieldwork.
  • Assessing the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls to ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
  • Identifying control weaknesses or process inefficiencies that could lead to risks or non-compliance, along with their root causes and potential solutions.
  • Preparing clear and well-supported documentation of audit findings.
  • Collaborating closely with leadership across various departments to address financial or operational control challenges.
  • Keeping Internal Audit management informed about audit progress, challenges, and potential findings.
  • Actively contributing to the reputation of the Internal Audit department as a valued partner within the organization.
  • Staying informed about industry trends, regulatory updates, emerging risks, and best practices in internal auditing.
  • Assisting with other departmental projects as assigned.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Your Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant audit experience, gained through internal audit or public accounting.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or biotech sectors is preferred but not mandatory.
  • An active professional certification in at least one area (e.g., CIA, CPA, CISA, CMA) is advantageous.
  • Flexibility in prioritizing tasks and reallocating work among team members as necessary.
  • Strong understanding of risks, processes, and controls across financial, operational, and compliance domains.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Innovative thinking and adaptability to changing environments.
  • Proficient project management and time management abilities.
  • Familiarity with leading-edge audit and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP systems and data analytic software (e.g., Alteryx or Power BI) is a plus.
