POSITION OVERVIEW

This document outlines the key responsibilities, expected qualifications, and experience for the role. The ideal candidate will be situated in the Livonia, MI region. The main duty of this position is to deliver technical assistance and to prepare and present product demonstrations alongside the Sales team and clients. This role will involve collaboration with both Japanese and US Engineering teams to address technical inquiries. The position will report to the Automotive Sales Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the primary advanced technical resource for the Sales team and Hirose clients.
  • Engage directly with clients for all application support inquiries, performance specifications, and new product development requests.
  • Enhance the Sales team's technical footprint within significant customer accounts.
  • Analyze customer technology trends and share insights.
  • Conduct teardown analysis and measurements to understand customer applications and competitor products, followed by report creation.
  • Assist in Technology and Product demonstrations as requested by the Sales team.
  • Maintain and utilize electrical equipment effectively.
  • Establish relationships with cable and harness manufacturers.
  • Support promotional activities such as exhibitions and sales package development.

COMMUNICATION AND INTERACTION

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills across all departments and with clients.
  • Exhibit strong presentation abilities for both internal and client meetings.
  • Maintain a proactive and creative approach with a sense of urgency in responding to client requests.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, presence, and presentation skills to engage with internal teams, external partners, and clients.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with CRM software is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Possess a positive attitude, proactive mindset, and strong work ethic as a team player.
  • Cross-cultural experience, particularly with Japanese companies, is a plus.
  • Willingness to collaborate with Hirose Japan Sales and Engineering teams as needed.
  • Self-motivated with a positive demeanor and high energy levels.
  • A solid engineering aptitude with the ability to articulate technical solutions and a comprehensive understanding of all Hirose product lines is essential for addressing customer-related challenges.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time to various customer R&D locations, including potential international travel.
  • Must have authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
