Position Overview: As a Field Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and nurturing relationships with existing clients to promote and sell Graybar's product offerings. Your role will involve regular in-person interactions with prospects and customers at their locations or other designated venues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve or surpass the assigned annual gross margin targets by effectively marketing and selling products within your designated area, adhering to the company's pricing strategies.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly, ensuring effective resolution and reporting any potential claims.
  • Stay informed about local market trends and competitor activities to provide valuable insights to management.
  • Implement sales and merchandising initiatives as directed, while suggesting new products for inventory consideration.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, transactions, and assist in the collection of overdue accounts.
  • Engage in training sessions, trade exhibitions, and sales meetings as required.
  • Provide product demonstrations post-sale when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required; 6+ years is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge in business management, sales, and marketing principles.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Ability to independently learn about our business and achieve set objectives.
  • Proven persuasive selling skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight trips.

Compensation: The anticipated salary range for this position is $55,000 to $75,000 annually, with eligibility for bonuses based on specific performance metrics.
