Job Overview

Position Summary: The Early Childhood Development Coach plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of early childhood experiences for children from birth to kindergarten. This position involves assisting in the daily operations of the Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) Training program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality early childhood experiences. Reporting directly to the FFN Program Supervisor, the coach is responsible for planning and coordinating FFN Caregiver training sessions, Family Fun Days, and Play Dates.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Professional Development and Training (45%): Organize and lead FFN Caregiver Training cohorts annually, ensuring compliance with funder-required topics in Standards of Practice. Facilitate monthly FFN Caregiver cafes to support the planning and execution of Play Dates and Family Fun Days.
  • Individualized Coaching (20%): Provide coaching to up to 100 FFN caregivers each year, assisting them in creating and completing personalized action plans that focus on 48 hours of training aimed at enhancing the quality of early childhood experiences.
  • Program Coordination and Community Engagement (15%): Contribute to the development of the FFN Community Engagement/Outreach Plan to recruit and enroll caregivers and host locations. Participate in community networking meetings to promote awareness of FFN Caregiver Training Programs.
  • Data Management (15%): Collect and maintain secure case files in line with documentation standards. Record outcomes and necessary caregiver data in the Children and Families data tracking system to fulfill reporting requirements.
  • Additional Duties (2.5%): Adhere to internal protocols regarding safety, health, and the environment of both clients and the workplace.
  • Other Responsibilities (2.5%): Perform related duties as assigned.

Daily Schedule Example: The Early Childhood Development Coach will typically work eight hours per day, with hours extending into the evening on one or two nights per week. Daily tasks may include collaborating with FFN staff, setting up and facilitating training sessions, entering data, and preparing materials for future events. Communication with enrolled FFN caregivers is essential to assess their progress on their Professional Development Action Plans.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education with a minimum of five years of relevant early childhood education experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Experience working with children from birth to age 12.
  • Knowledge of human service systems and resources.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, along with a valid Level 1 Fingerprint Card.
  • Clear criminal background and driving record.
  • Proficient in computer use and data management.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.

Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred. The ability to communicate effectively and work with diverse populations is essential.


Physical Demands: The role may require prolonged periods of sitting or standing, effective communication, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are necessary for traveling to various locations.
