Electrical Systems Engineer

Position Overview: Join Lockheed Martin, a leader in defense and aerospace, as a Controls Engineer. In this position, you will take charge of the design, development, and documentation of automated manufacturing systems and associated equipment essential for supporting our production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and rectify issues with existing electrical and control systems, including PLCs, AC & DC motors, servo drives, and variable frequency drives.
- Create comprehensive electrical automation equipment designs based on engineering specifications, resulting in detailed construction packages that guide fabrication, assembly, testing, and startup processes.
- Ensure design and documentation adhere to both company and industry standards, utilizing CAD software such as Dassault DraftSight or its equivalent.- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in mechanical engineering, quality assurance, safety, IT, and other departments to develop optimal solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Proficient understanding of electrical and logic diagrams.
- Skilled in using the MS Office suite.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with industrial automation equipment.
- Familiarity with machine electrical design and industrial electronics.
- Competent in selecting and specifying field devices and sensors.
- Knowledgeable about general manufacturing processes.
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain composure under pressure.
- Strong communication skills with technical, management, and frontline personnel.
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical and logic diagrams.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Demonstrated capability in troubleshooting industrial automation equipment.
- Understanding of machine electrical design principles.
- Familiarity with industrial electronics and components.
- Ability to select and specify appropriate field devices and sensors.
- Knowledge of general manufacturing processes.
- Capacity to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills with technical, management, and frontline staff.
Security Clearance Requirement: This role necessitates a government security clearance; candidates must be U.S. Citizens to be considered.
Clearance Level: Secret
