Role Overview:
The Senior Manufacturing Engineering Specialist is responsible for the development, implementation, and analysis of manufacturing engineering strategies and projects. This role involves effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment on engineering initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and develop manufacturing and engineering tools, methodologies, and systems.
- Formulate manufacturing strategies tailored to specific products and processes.
- Collaborate with engineering project teams to facilitate the introduction of new products.
- Estimate and monitor manufacturing costs, establish time standards, and provide recommendations for tooling and process requirements for both new and existing product lines.
- Maintain comprehensive records and reporting systems to support the coordination of manufacturing operations.
Essential Functions:
- Implement moderate enhancements to systems and processes to address challenges or improve operational effectiveness.
- Engage with various contacts within and outside the department to clarify and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.
- Propose improvements to existing systems and processes.
- Work towards achieving operational targets for specific programs and projects, influencing departmental outcomes.
- May oversee entire projects or processes within the job scope.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and training to peers within the job area.
- Manage projects at this level, including delegating tasks and reviewing the work of others.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Graduate Degree with at least 4 years of related engineering experience.
- Alternatively, a minimum of 10 years of relevant engineering experience may substitute for a degree.
- 2 years of experience in statistical process control.
- 1 year of experience in continuous improvement within a manufacturing context.
