Automation Systems Engineer

The Automation/Controls Engineer is a pivotal role within our organization, focusing on the design, development, and oversight of electrical control systems. This professional is tasked with the installation and technical support of PLC-based hardware and software, ensuring seamless operation and efficiency in our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the principal designer for automation systems and tooling for both new and existing production lines.
- Collaborate with Program Management and R&D teams to provide essential automation and controls expertise.
- Coordinate with various departments to develop comprehensive plans for infrastructure enhancements and capital investments.
- Manage scheduling and collaboration for special projects and internal studies.
- Enhance equipment design to improve production efficiency.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and project scopes for tooling and equipment.
- Oversee the design and production process for outsourced systems.
- Supervise the installation of automation equipment and tooling, providing support to Maintenance, Production, and Quality teams.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and assess their potential applications within our operations.
- Uphold the highest ethical standards in all professional interactions.
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of PLC and HMI programming.
- Proficient in troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.
- Solid mathematical and computer skills, along with familiarity with measurement instruments.
- Degree in an engineering discipline with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
- Experience with CAD systems is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Dependable and responsible, with the capacity to work independently.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience in energetics or defense manufacturing is advantageous.
- Five years of experience in a related manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Ability to analyze data and produce technical documentation.
Work Schedule
