Job Overview:
The Senior Manufacturing Engineering Specialist is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of manufacturing engineering initiatives. This role involves effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on engineering strategies and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designs and executes manufacturing engineering plans and projects, ensuring clear communication with all relevant parties.
- Defines and develops essential manufacturing tools and strategies tailored to specific products and processes.
- Collaborates with engineering project teams to facilitate the introduction of new products into the market.
- Estimates and monitors manufacturing costs, establishes time standards, and provides recommendations for tooling and process requirements for both new and existing product lines.
- Maintains comprehensive records and reporting systems to support the coordination of manufacturing operations.
Essential Functions:
- Implements enhancements to systems and processes to resolve issues and improve operational effectiveness.
- Engages with contacts across various departments to clarify and interpret operational processes and procedures.
- Suggests improvements to existing systems and processes.
- Aims to meet operational targets for specific programs and projects, impacting departmental outcomes.
- May oversee entire projects or processes within the scope of this role.
- Provides guidance, coaching, and training to colleagues within the job area.
- May manage projects, including delegating tasks and reviewing the work of others.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Graduate Degree with at least 4 years of related engineering experience.
- Alternatively, a minimum of 10 years of relevant engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
- At least 2 years of experience in statistical process control.
- A minimum of 1 year of continuous improvement experience in a manufacturing setting.
