Position Overview

The Regional Vice President of National Accounts Casualty (NAC) oversees the comprehensive technical underwriting and account management of loss-sensitive casualty programs within the Southeast region. This role entails collaborating with retail brokers to attract and maintain these accounts, alongside the management and development of personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Achieve NAC Financial Objectives - Targets for Return on Capital, combined ratio, expense ratio, rate adjustments, renewal retention, and paid and case ratios.
  • Uphold Underwriting Integrity:
    • Formulate action plans for renewal business to ensure a balance between high renewal retention and necessary underwriting actions on specific accounts.
    • Quality of Over Authority Referrals - Address significant issues appropriately.
  • Strategize for Future Growth:
    • Develop a Regional Plan - Elements should include Staff Development and Broker Strategy, focusing on both major brokers and the next tier of brokers.
    • Foster a culture within the region that aligns with NAC's and Arch's strategic direction.
    • Meet NAC service standards for brokers and clients.
  • Collaborate with staff to identify potential exposures and hazards concerning requested coverage and individual risk characteristics.
  • Assist staff in evaluating insurance and related financial risks, structuring suitable loss-sensitive programs to effectively mitigate frequency, severity, catastrophic, and credit risks.
  • Work with internal team members to ensure the delivery of promised services to clients.
  • Possess knowledge of coverage terms - Workers Compensation, Excess Workers Compensation, General Liability, and Automobile Liability.
  • Understand large deductible, retrospective, self-insured, and single parent captive insurance programs.
  • Demonstrate expertise in exposure identification and analysis.
  • Exhibit a cross-functional generalist knowledge of other disciplines, including claims, risk control, audit, premium accounting, finance, and legal.
  • Be knowledgeable about regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Possess the ability to influence and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Exhibit the capacity to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Proven Sales and Negotiation capabilities.
  • Strong customer service, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Hands-on experience and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Preferred college degree.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience with Large Casualty Accounts is required.
