Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and driven individual to become a part of our engineering design and drafting team within generation engineering. In this role, you will provide support for all power plant facilities, focusing on minor and major upgrades, repairs, and enhancements for both capital and operational budgets. This position encompasses engineering design and project management responsibilities, enabling you to oversee projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct engineering design work and engineering studies.
  • Serve as the engineering project leader.
  • Prepare specifications and assess bids.
  • Compile recommendation materials for management review.
  • Oversee and evaluate work performed by consultants and other parties.
  • Prepare and/or deliver written and oral reports and presentations.
  • Engage in field engineering tasks.
  • Conduct engineering analyses.
  • Design and/or code computer programs.
Qualifications for Success

Accountable for managing project budgets and timelines. You will have occasional interactions with customers and external agencies, as well as with suppliers of equipment and services. Some travel to supplier facilities, industry events, and SRP locations may be required. You should possess the ability to collaborate effectively with various organizational groups within SRP and utilize the necessary engineering tools for the role (e.g., computers, testing equipment, etc.).

Experience Requirements

A minimum of five (5) years of full-time experience in engineering practice is required. Candidates must demonstrate successful completion of work relevant to the Senior Engineer role. Advancement to Level 2 necessitates at least two years of experience at Level 1, showcasing the ability to perform advanced and more complex tasks as determined by the supervisor. Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of three years of experience at Level 2, demonstrating full competency in all aspects of the assigned functional area and recognition as a specialist, with potential lead responsibilities.

Educational Background

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, an International Engineering Alliance (IEA) recognized institution, or any state or internationally recognized PE registration is required.

Certifications

Candidates must possess a valid Arizona driver's license.

Hybrid Work Environment

SRP currently supports a hybrid work model, allowing employees whose roles can be performed remotely, and who have the necessary technical capabilities, to telework up to three days per week. While teleworking is an option, all employees must reside and work in Arizona. We are implementing measures to safeguard the health and well-being of all team members by adhering to health and safety protocols to mitigate the risk of COVID-19.
