Position Summary

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a highly skilled Water and Wastewater Project Manager to enhance our innovative team. This role is pivotal in overseeing projects related to municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a design team from the initial phases of study and design through to construction oversight.
  • Engage in various projects across the municipal water and wastewater sectors.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineering staff.
  • Handle design responsibilities appropriate to your level of expertise.
  • Act as the primary liaison for clients, contractors, and internal teams on multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Collaborate with the team to make informed decisions regarding technical strategies, budget management, scheduling, change orders, risk assessment, and overall project efficiency.
  • Regularly monitor and report on project timelines and financial status.
  • Facilitate project meetings with clients and stakeholders to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Prepare, review, and endorse written project deliverables.
  • Opportunity for growth in client development and management, supported by local and corporate resources.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Bachelor's Degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proficient in standard software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Strong organizational skills and a proven track record in problem-solving.
  • Possession of a PE license or the capability to obtain one within six months.
  • Preferred experience of 10-15 years in the water sector.
  • Additional preferred qualifications include:
  • Master's Degree in environmental engineering.
  • Experience in business development.
  • Extensive background with public utility projects.
