The Human Resources Specialist will play a pivotal role in integrating business acumen with human resource proficiency to support our operations while aiding in the recruitment of hourly staff on-site.

This position encompasses both strategic and operational responsibilities, ranging from coaching supervisors to addressing HR inquiries and facilitating employee onboarding.

They will be instrumental in the organization's success by providing insights on hiring, separations, performance evaluation, employee relations, and HR best practices, while nurturing a constructive relationship between staff and management.

Understanding the culture at North Coast is essential, as they will strive to enhance the employee experience.


The Human Resources Specialist will spearhead our recruitment initiatives utilizing our applicant tracking system to advertise positions, evaluate candidates, arrange interviews, manage applicant flow, and oversee onboarding processes.

This role is crucial in ensuring we attract the most qualified candidates for production, shipping, and other support roles.


They will also manage payroll for the entire organization on a weekly basis through ADP WFN and assist in the implementation of key ADP functionalities over the next six months, including electronic onboarding and benefits administration.

The Human Resources Specialist will dedicate 70% of their time to general HR functions and the remaining time to recruitment activities.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as the primary contact for employee inquiries regarding policies and procedures.

Coordinate the hiring process, including job postings, interview scheduling, and communication with new hires.

Facilitate employee onboarding, orientation, background checks, and drug screenings.

Administer benefits, including claims resolution, reporting changes, and communicating benefit information to employees.

Communicate HR initiatives and ensure timely completion of employee assessments.

Assist with training and development activities.

Serve as the main contact for recruitment efforts.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in Human Resources.

1+ years of recruiting experience in manufacturing is required; experience in the food or seafood industry is preferred.

Bilingual proficiency in English & Spanish or Portuguese is required.

Experience in employee relations.

Familiarity with fundamental HR policies and procedures.

Knowledge of HR best practices and current regulations.

Exceptional organizational skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Adept at problem-solving with sound judgment.

Growth-oriented and adaptable to change.

Experience with ADP Workforce Now.

Willingness to work a flexible schedule that meets business needs.

Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at various organizational levels.
