About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fluids Systems Valve Design Engineer II to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and developing the next generation of valves for use on our New Glenn rocket.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop valves for aerospace fluid systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate valve designs into the overall system architecture.
  • Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to optimize valve performance.
  • Develop and maintain detailed engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and test teams to ensure smooth production and testing of valve components.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in aerospace valve design and development.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred) and FEA tools (ANSYS preferred).
  • Strong understanding of fluid components, including valves, tubing, and pressurized hardware.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience designing systems with hydrogen, oxygen, and methane in liquid and/or gaseous states.
  • Experience with thermo-fluid solver applications (Thermal Desktop, AFT, etc.).
  • Proven understanding of materials properties and treatments, with a preference for aerospace materials.
  • Hands-on experience building and testing mechanical assemblies or pressurized components/systems.
What We Offer

At Blue Origin, we offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $89,820.00-$125,748.00, depending on location. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.
