Role Overview
We invite you to join our diverse team of innovative thinkers as we embark on exciting new ventures in the realm of space exploration. This position plays a crucial role in the development and operational success of New Glenn, a heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle designed for frequent missions carrying both personnel and cargo to various orbits, including:
- Low Earth Orbit
- Geostationary Transfer Orbit
- Cislunar Space
- Beyond
The first stage of this vehicle is fully reusable, engineered from the outset to accommodate human spaceflight.
Key Responsibilities
As a vital member of our engineering team, you will:
- Support production and integration teams in delivering high-quality launch vehicles.
- Collaborate closely with design engineers and manufacturing personnel to address immediate challenges and enhance production efficiency.
- Lead initiatives for design and manufacturing enhancements, manage non-conforming hardware, and prepare technical documentation.
Your technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and dedication to quality will significantly contribute to the safety and success of human spaceflight.
Qualifications
We seek candidates with:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (aerospace, mechanical, chemical, or physics preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in the assembly and installation of fluid systems and components.
- Experience in an AS9100/ISO9100 manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience in processing discrepant hardware.
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency.
Preferred Qualifications
Ideal candidates will also possess:
- A Master’s degree in an engineering discipline or higher.
- Experience in manufacturing trending and process optimization.
- Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
- 2+ years of experience in creating and managing work orders for aerospace hardware production.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP.
- Experience with Creo (Pro/E) Wildfire 5 or later, and Windchill 10.
- Knowledge of fluid systems design, particularly for cryogenic, liquid, and pneumatic systems.
- Working knowledge of common fluid system components (e.g., valves, regulators, fittings).
- Experience in planning and executing large-scale assemblies with numerous unique parts.
- The ability to work collaboratively with technicians on the manufacturing floor, providing real-time feedback and guidance on integration processes.
