Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop designs for various types of pressure vessels tailored to vehicle integration requirements.
  • Create fluid line designs and flexible components for cryogenic and aerospace applications.
  • Generate detailed drawings, ensuring proper tolerances and GD&T specifications.
  • Oversee the design release process, including drawing approvals and DFM assessments.
  • Conduct analysis on primary and secondary spacecraft pressure vessels.
  • Integrate structural analysis with dynamic load assessments.
  • Develop, refine, validate, and correlate Finite Element Models with test data.
  • Perform strength assessments and compile analysis reports.
  • Formulate test and verification strategies along with corresponding documentation.
  • Assist in configuration development and conduct trade studies.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in structural dynamics and loads prediction/validation, alongside finite element modeling.
  • Strong foundation in static and dynamic structural principles.
  • Enthusiasm for developing and validating spacecraft structural/environmental loads.
  • Proficient in solving diverse static and dynamic structural challenges using analytical methods.
  • Experience in aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles, or automotive sectors in areas such as:
o External load assessments
o Vibro-acoustic evaluations
o Thermal load analysis
o Proficiency in Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, or Optistruct

  • Ability to foster trust, maintain professional relationships, and contribute to an inclusive work culture.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in COPV and metallic pressure vessel design and analysis.
  • Expertise in fluid line and flexible element design.
  • Knowledge of composite materials and their design/analysis.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, material selection, and testing methodologies.
  • Experience in structural optimization using industry-standard codes.
  • Proficiency in Pro-Engineer Wildfire 4 / Creo Parametric or later versions.
  • Experience in human spaceflight and familiarity with relevant standards.
