Job Title: Fluid Systems Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Fluid Systems Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex fluid systems for our spacecraft and launch vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop fluid component hardware to meet cost, performance, and schedule constraints.
- Design and route complex fluid subsystems, including pressurization, pneumatics, and propellant utilization.
- Develop and own the development, acceptance, and qualification test activities for your hardware.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure systems integration and resolve issues efficiently.
- Utilize project management skills for supplier management, scheduling, and production interfacing.
- Utilize 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred) and Finite Element Analysis programs (ANSYS Preferred).
- Deliver completed designs using best draft practices per ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of professional engineering experience with complex fluid systems.
- Demonstrated experience with spacecraft or launch vehicle fluid system component design.
- Knowledge of fluid components such as valves, pressure vessels, flex elements, and fittings.
- Experience diagnosing and fixing fluids hardware.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a rapid hardware development environment.
- Experience with cryogenic systems (LOX and LH2).
- Experience in designing for low-cost manufacturing.
- Knowledge of cryogenic material properties and testing.
