Position Summary

The Program Coordinator plays a vital role in assisting program participants in developing positive social behaviors and thinking patterns through the implementation of cognitive behavioral and evidence-based curricula. This position involves facilitating group sessions focused on topics such as anger management, violence prevention, and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver gender-responsive and trauma-informed programming through structured group sessions.
  • Employ evidence-based practices to boost participant engagement and motivation.
  • Conduct orientations and intake sessions for program participants.
  • Maintain accurate records of group attendance, rosters, and participant progress.
  • Assist participants in planning for their reintegration into the community as appropriate.
  • Coordinate participant schedules to ensure all programming needs are fulfilled.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences or a related field; or possess a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) designation or equivalent with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience as a facilitator, educator, or group moderator within the criminal justice system.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable discussing sensitive topics.
  • Effective conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Flexible availability, including potential evening sessions.
