MRC Global operates within the oil and gas sector, encompassing upstream, midstream, and downstream operations, as well as the chemical and gas distribution markets globally.

Job Objective

Support the realization and attainment of set financial targets; responsible for the development and expansion of current accounts, enhancing market presence within the designated territory.

Key Responsibilities (not exhaustive)

The individual must be capable of executing the essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Establish and nurture relationships with the designated customer portfolio, including national accounts, conduct research, and prepare quotes and information for clients; strive to ensure satisfaction with MRC Global's offerings at all times;
  • Acquire and apply knowledge of customer accounts within the assigned territory, including technical specifications, production volumes and schedules, targeted pricing, relevant contract stipulations, and competitive assessments;
  • Engage with existing and prospective clients to market products and services, ensure customer satisfaction with current offerings, and broaden the customer base;
  • Enhance existing accounts through the implementation of a proactive sales strategy, focusing on lost and declining business within the current customer base;
  • Maximize profitability by meeting or surpassing gross margin objectives through effective negotiation;
  • Investigate and gather information on new projects;
  • Negotiate with suppliers and collaborate with Supply Chain teams for optimal product pricing;
  • Collaborate with Branch/Regional management and the National Account team to formulate strategic business plans for the territory, assist with proposals, contract research and negotiation, and the execution of sales strategies to drive sales growth;
  • Identify and communicate ongoing work, potential threats, opportunities, and related market trends as necessary;
  • Foster effective partnerships with the Branch team; communicate to enhance understanding of customer business processes, purchasing procedures, and service expectations;
  • Work alongside branch and other internal resources to investigate and resolve all customer complaints promptly. Assess the source of issues and follow through to resolution;
  • Perform related administrative tasks in accordance with MRC Global protocols, including quotations, order placement, delivery confirmation, processing changes and returns, and responding to inquiries;
  • Participate in branch meetings; share insights; instill vision and create enthusiasm to achieve objectives;
  • Collaborate with branch warehouse to meet delivery performance targets, ensuring orders are fulfilled as promised, while keeping customers informed of order status;
  • Promote and engage in the advocacy of safety initiatives;
  • Exercise caution in all activities; demonstrate leadership in safety; report and address workplace hazards, injuries, or illnesses immediately;
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned;
  • Take reasonable care for the safety and health of oneself and others; report workplace hazards, injuries, or illnesses immediately.
Education, Experience & Skills Requirements

Any combination of qualifications that provide the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities will be considered.
  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree) and additional relevant training;
  • A minimum of three (3) years in customer service, inside sales, and/or warehouse services in a role with increasing responsibility, including demonstrated sales leadership/supervisory experience;
  • Proven knowledge of PVF materials and the ability to comprehend the scope of MRC Global services, including pricing, supply, and contract terms;
  • Proficient in the use of computers and software applications;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and promote ideas and transfer detailed knowledge to others;
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings;
  • Willingness and ability to be on call as needed to provide 24-hour service to clients;
  • Willingness and ability to travel within and outside the branch service area, with occasional overnight stays;
  • Valid Driver's license with the ability to meet MRC Global vehicle policy.
Additional Qualifications
  • Must possess the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.
  • Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently to communicate with others, understand and interpret safety instructions, and respond to inquiries;
  • Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global guidelines and expectations, including Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
