Primary Business Goals:

The Natural Gas Treatment Field Technician - Rotator plays a crucial role in the upkeep and servicing of USA Compression equipment, reporting directly to the Area Service Manager (ASM). This position requires minimal supervision and grants significant autonomy, with key responsibilities including the safe execution of scheduled maintenance, fostering and maintaining customer relationships, and delivering first-line support for equipment troubleshooting. USA Compression employees are dedicated to upholding a safe and professional work environment that aligns with our core values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement a routine maintenance strategy to minimize downtime for all assigned equipment.
  • Adhere to the company handbook and comply with all safety and environmental regulations set by the company or clients.
  • Ensure operational uptime of natural gas treatment units in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Collect and prepare data for critical operational reports on a regular schedule.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from the ASM or clients.
  • Oversee and/or assist in the installation of treatment units and collaborate with clients during installations.
  • Work closely with the Lead Service Technician and ASM on significant repairs; escalate issues as necessary following established protocols.
  • Maintain and operate the company vehicle in accordance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify potential sales or equipment opportunities.
  • Partner with the parts department to ensure adequate inventory for each unit.
  • Maintain cleanliness of each assigned unit by following good housekeeping practices and ensuring safe working conditions.
  • Perform any additional duties or responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
  • This is a full-time hourly position.
Skills, Qualifications, and Education:
  • Strong professional communication skills for effective interaction with customer field personnel, onsite vendors, and colleagues. This role involves significant customer engagement, making excellent customer service and communication skills vital for success.
  • Technical or vocational school certification or relevant work experience in a related field.
  • Preferred experience of 3-5 years in gas treatment. Depending on assigned equipment, responsibilities may include maintaining Amine Plants, Dehydration Units, Fuel Gas Conditioners, and JT/Refrigeration units, among other related equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High level of mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Capable of safely operating a commercial-sized vehicle.
  • Valid driver's license with a Motor Vehicle Record acceptable to USA Compression.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work extended hours, including on-call weekends.
  • Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions from the company and supervisor, including training materials and procedures.
  • Must possess the legal right to work in the U.S.
Working Conditions:
  • Travel is required up to 90% of the time.
  • Periodic lifting of items exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk on uneven terrain, climb ladders and stairs, and perform various physical tasks as required.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures and weather conditions based on job location.
  • Some exposure to high noise levels requiring hearing protection, as well as potentially hazardous materials.
  • Working conditions may vary between indoor compressor stations and outdoor sites, subject to different weather conditions.
  • Emphasis on safety while operating heavy machinery and equipment.
