About the Role:

Job Overview

The individual in this role will be accountable for the formulation and implementation of public relations and marketing strategies for Northeast Georgia Physicians Group. This position operates autonomously, offering PR counsel to senior executives, service line leaders, managers, and medical professionals while establishing marketing strategies to meet volume objectives across various departments. The role requires critical thinking to identify and pursue integration opportunities within community service areas. The candidate will create and execute comprehensive marketing plans in partnership with other PR/Marketing personnel, Planning, and Regional Network Development teams, while also monitoring data to evaluate results and enhance campaign effectiveness. Responsibilities extend to overseeing hospital publications, crafting specialized brochures, organizing events and health education initiatives, assisting with media relations, and effectively upholding the organization's brand identity. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional writing skills for digital platforms, social media, and press communications; the ability to simplify complex messages for diverse audiences; experience in video content production; budget management; strategic planning; and campaign design and execution.



Minimum Job Qualifications
  • Licensure or other certifications:
  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum Experience: A Bachelor's degree in a communication-related discipline along with three (3) years of relevant professional experience
  • Other: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as web content management systems

Job Specific and Unique Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proven experience in crafting and executing innovative advertising (both online and traditional) and public relations strategies
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively with minimal supervision
  • Capacity to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and maintain a strong work ethic
  • Excellent writing capabilities across various media (print, web, presentations, etc.), along with superior proofreading skills
  • Knowledge of online advertising and promotional strategies (social media, online advertising, search engine optimization)
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Proficient media relations skills, including crisis management and familiarity with AP Style
  • Attention to detail and follow-through; experience in budget management
  • Knowledge of design principles and creative concepts to collaborate with graphic designers for effective design of brochures, advertisements, publications, signage, etc.
  • Skill in conveying complex messages clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to cultivate strategic relationships with influential community members through organizations such as chambers of commerce, Rotary clubs, schools, etc. to enhance business relationships and referrals
  • Familiarity with the healthcare industry and direct experience in healthcare settings is highly advantageous - particularly concerning the Atlanta market, strategic planning, and physician relations.


Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement advertising, public relations, and media relations strategies for 3 – 5 key service lines, managing the needs of multiple service lines concurrently within established deadlines.
  • Collaborate closely with various operational and clinical leaders, guiding intricate projects to shape and influence strategic direction.
  • Generate creative concepts to effectively support business growth strategies and priorities, partnering with in-house resources and external firms to produce impactful online, video, audio, print, and other marketing and communication materials.
  • Negotiate and secure media placements (online paid search and display campaigns, print advertising, radio spots, television commercials, etc.).
  • Author content and serve as editor for publications, online materials, and other communication resources, adhering to assigned deadlines.
  • Establish strategic relationships with media outlets and manage media relations, including the release of patient information in compliance with hospital policies. Draft and distribute press releases and proactively pitch stories to media outlets.
  • Organize speaking engagements and health education events.
  • Keep the PR Director and Manager informed of specific issues arising within service lines that may necessitate intervention by management.
  • May assist with crisis communication efforts.
  • May mentor or train less experienced team members.
  • Provide guidance to leaders and physicians, crafting media responses and speeches as required for media inquiries, speaking engagements, and health education events.
  • Identify opportunities and assist in defining strategies to enhance referrals and boost patient volumes.
  • Manage complex political relationships to promote optimal business growth for the health system, keeping the PR Director and Manager updated on issues that may require intervention.
  • Deliver timely, accurate data demonstrating the success and return on investment of promotional activities that support providers and practices in achieving targeted patient volumes.
