About the Role:

Job Overview

The individual will oversee the creation and implementation of marketing and public relations initiatives for Northeast Georgia Physicians Group. This role requires independent work, offering PR counsel to senior management, service line leaders, and medical professionals while formulating strategies for marketing and outreach to meet volume objectives across various departments. The candidate will critically assess and initiate integration opportunities within community service areas. This position involves developing and executing structured marketing strategies in collaboration with other PR/Marketing personnel, Planning, and Regional Network Development teams, while also monitoring data to evaluate results and enhance campaign effectiveness. Additional responsibilities include managing hospital publications, crafting specialized brochures, organizing events and health education programs, assisting with media relations, and maintaining the organization’s brand integrity. The ideal candidate should excel in writing for digital platforms, social media, and press releases; simplifying complex information for diverse audiences; producing video content; managing budgets; and strategizing and executing campaigns.



Minimum Job Qualifications
  • Licensure or other certifications:

  • Minimum Experience: A Bachelor's degree in a communication-related discipline with three (3) years of relevant professional experience
  • Other: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with web content management systems

  • Proven experience in designing and executing innovative advertising (both online and traditional) and public relations strategies
  • Capacity to take initiative, work autonomously, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and maintain a strong work ethic
  • Exceptional writing skills across various media (print, web, presentations, etc.), along with expert proofreading abilities
  • Understanding of online advertising and promotion (social media, online ads, search engine optimization)
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Proficient media relations skills, including crisis management and familiarity with AP Style
  • Attention to detail and follow-through; adept at budget management
  • Knowledge of design principles and creative concepts to collaborate with graphic designers for effective design of brochures, advertisements, publications, signage, etc.
  • Skill in conveying complex messages clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to build strategic relationships with influential community members through organizations such as chambers of commerce, Rotary clubs, schools, etc. to foster business relationships and referrals
  • Familiarity with the healthcare industry and direct experience within healthcare is highly advantageous - particularly regarding the Atlanta market, strategic planning, and physician relations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement advertising, public relations, and media relations strategies for 3 – 5 key service lines, managing the needs of multiple service lines concurrently within established deadlines.
  • Collaborate closely with various operational and clinical leaders, guiding complex projects to shape and influence strategy.
  • Create innovative concepts to effectively support business growth strategies and priorities, working with internal resources and external agencies to produce impactful online, video, audio, print, and other marketing and communication materials.
  • Negotiate and secure media placements (online paid search and display campaigns, print advertising, radio spots, television commercials, etc.).
  • Write and edit content for publications, online platforms, and other communication materials in accordance with set deadlines.
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with media outlets and manage media relations, including the release of patient information, in compliance with hospital policies. Write and distribute press releases and proactively pitch stories to media outlets.
  • Organize speaking engagements and health education events.
  • Keep PR Director and Manager informed of specific issues arising within service lines that may require intervention by management.
  • May assist with crisis communication efforts.
  • May mentor or train less experienced team members.
  • Guide leaders and physicians in crafting media responses and speeches as needed for media inquiries, speaking engagements, and health education events.
  • Identify opportunities and help define strategies to enhance referrals and increase patient volumes.
  • Manage complex political relationships to promote optimal business growth for the health system, keeping PR Director and Manager informed of issues that may require intervention.
  • Provide timely, accurate data demonstrating the success and return-on-investment of promotional activities that assist providers and practices in achieving targeted patient volumes.
