We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager to join our team at Oak View Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing all aspects of event supervision, including event set-up and production, as well as overseeing event security and management of operations.
Key Responsibilities- Event Supervision: Direct and manage conversions of portable basketball floor, concerts, conferences, and other events.
- Facility Readiness: Ensure facility readiness and smooth operation of events.
- Standard Operating Procedure: Assist Director of Operations in establishing and maintaining a working Standard Operating Procedure for all aspects of the building.
- Operations Coordination: Coordinate the operations activities with other building departments and outside contractors to ensure events run smoothly while set-ups are taking place.
- Staff Management: Select, train, motivate, and evaluate Housekeeping and Operations Supervisors and part-time staff.
- Training and Development: Provide and/or coordinate department staff training.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure staff is working safely, efficiently, and are aware of proper safety guidelines.
- Work Planning: Plan, direct, coordinate, and review the work plan for facility event operations.
- Supply Management: Order supplies and materials for housekeeping and operations departments within budget guidelines; receive, inventory, and maintain supplies.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients.
- Disciplinary Actions: Work with staff Supervisors and staff to correct deficiencies; implement timely disciplinary and exiting procedures.
- Financial Management: Participate in the development and administration of the Operations budget; forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures; implement adjustments as necessary.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain hazardous materials communication program, material safety data sheets, and required records and permits; maintain knowledge of changes in pertinent Federal, State, and Local regulations.
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in event management, sports administration, business administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years experience in facility operations supervision or with comparable increasing responsibility in a public assembly facility with knowledge of set-up/housekeeping, conversion, and/or event coordination.
- Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of supervisory skills and principles, with experience in work crew supervision and working on a varied work schedule in facility operations.
- Personal Qualities: Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills; ability to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing.
- Physical Demands: Must be comfortable multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment; familiarity of OSHA requirements; strong interpersonal skills necessary, including excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Certifications: Possess valid driver's license or have the ability to acquire; possess valid forklift certification or have the willingness to acquire.
