Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Marine Engineer to join our team at Applied Research Associates, Inc. This role will be responsible for overseeing all operations and maintenance associated with engineering equipment on our vessels and other craft used for vessel operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, execute, and document all periodic maintenance requirements, including daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual tasks
  • Maintain and order repair parts, as well as maintain appropriate levels of on-board spares
  • Lead on-scene emergency response efforts, including fire, man overboard, or any other casualty
  • Lead launch and recovery of assets from vessels and during docking and undocking evolutions
  • Maintain all damage control and firefighting equipment, as well as shipboard auxiliary systems, including ground tackle, deck equipment, and boat launch/recovery systems
  • Maintain Stiletto electrical generators and distribution systems
Requirements
  • 10 years of experience in Navy maritime research and development programs
  • 10 years of previous experience in Marine Engineering
  • Significant experience in high-speed diesel-powered platforms
  • Strong deck plate electrical background and proven performance in marine platforms
  • Significant experience in maintaining/repairing carbon fiber hulls
  • Experience in a Fabrication/Repair Facility – Integrating new systems
  • Vessel dry-docking experience
  • Recent installation experience of newer maritime technologies, including Radar, Electro Optics, Infrared Sensors, Communications, Electrical Power, Structural Materials, and propulsion systems
  • Recent experience in launch and recovery of unmanned systems and their operations from a maritime platform
  • Secret Security Clearance required
