Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a Structural Engineer with a focus on waterfront infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess design experience in marine structures, buildings, or substantial facilities, and will be eager to expand their knowledge in structural waterfront design.

Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will engage in a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Acting as a design engineer or design manager on waterfront projects.
  • Conducting analysis, design, and inspection of waterfront structures, ensuring quality control and assurance.
  • Performing structural analysis and design utilizing timber, steel, concrete, and composite materials.
  • Developing comprehensive plans, specifications, and inspection reports.
  • Executing Quality Assurance reviews of drawings, specifications, calculations, and cost estimates.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on complex projects.
  • Conducting site investigations and providing construction support.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, along with a Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer licensure in Virginia or the ability to obtain it through reciprocity.
  • 4 to 6 years of relevant structural design experience.
  • Experience with marine/waterfront structures, heavy civil/geotechnical projects, or large facilities.
  • Familiarity with design software such as SAP2000, STAAD, LPile, AutoCAD, or Revit.

Physical Requirements:
This position primarily involves office work, with occasional site visits that may require navigating uneven terrain while carrying equipment. Some travel may be necessary to collaborate with other offices or project sites.
