We are seeking a highly skilled Fault Engineer to join our team at U.S. Marine Management LLC. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our watercraft and modular causeway systems.
Key Responsibilities- Task Organization and Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for the Fault Repair Team, coordinating activities and interfacing with the Maintenance Supervisor, Fault Repair Technicians, and external contractors.
- Maintenance Management: Provide directives and guidance to Fault Repair Technicians, ensuring the execution of prioritized vessel fault tasks and daily crew and organizational level maintenance.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records and reports for all repairs and maintenance, including fault projections and actual performed documentation.
- Technical Expertise: Perform hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance requirements, including electrical/electronic repairs, engine repairs, pipe repairs, and deck equipment repairs.
- Subcontractor/Vendor Management: Oversee maintenance activities of subcontractors/vendors for unplanned and planned maintenance requirements.
- Communication and Collaboration: Advise the Maintenance Supervisor of work in progress, material availability, and potential problems, recommending corrective action measures.
- Performance Monitoring: Provide status on repair schedules, cost adherence, and required records and data associated with maintenance performed on all watercraft/MCS.
- Documentation and Compliance: Develop and maintain COSIS-specific maintenance documentation in accordance with Performance Work Statement requirements.
- Education and Experience: Watercraft experienced Warrant Officer, Senior NCO, or equivalent with 5-10 years of Army Watercraft maintenance experience, able to obtain/reinstate and maintain a U.S. Army Chief Engineer 881A2 License or hold a current USCG (Motor, 5000Hp or greater) Merchant Mariner/Chief Engineer License.
- Technical Skills and Competencies: Proficient in the use of proven maintenance management systems, such as NS5 and SAMM, and experience in the application and use of the GCSS-Army database operational system and applications.
- Soft Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, adaptability, and flexibility in meeting the needs of the business.
The Fault Engineer will split time between a general office setting and working on board U.S. Army Class A, B, and C watercraft and Modular Causeway Systems, performing sea trials, dock trials, and vessel equipment maintenance and operational checks. Vessel work will require the employee to wear hearing protection due to high noise decibels and work in varying temperatures. In the office setting, the employee will sit comfortably to perform work, usually at a computer terminal, with short breaks or lunch periods. Day-to-day requirements will require some bending/stooping, reaching above shoulder level, walking, standing, and carrying of light items.
