Position Overview:
KES, Inc. is in search of skilled Mechanical Engineers who possess the expertise and experience necessary to contribute to engineering design and lifecycle support initiatives for naval vessels and combat craft.

Key Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Engineer will be an integral part of the Combatant Craft Engineering and Design Services Division, engaging in various functional areas such as project management, research and development (R&D), science and technology (S&T) development, planning, acquisition engineering, integrated logistics support (ILS), in-service engineering, testing and evaluation, and lifecycle management for maritime vessels.

The responsibilities include:
1. Conducting design and analysis for watercraft propulsion and auxiliary systems, focusing on thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and structural integrity.
2. Performing detailed calculations and verification for mechanical systems, including:
   - Deck machinery systems
   - Engine and exhaust sizing
   - Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
   - Hydraulic and fluid flow systems
   - Noise and vibration predictions
3. Leading engineering assessments and coordinating mechanical work across multiple projects, ensuring seamless integration with various disciplines.
4. Mentoring junior engineers and technicians, overseeing ship check activities, and confirming design integrity and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications:
Required:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from an accredited institution
- Willingness to travel as necessary for project requirements

Preferred:
- EIT certificate and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license

Experience:
Senior Engineers should have a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, while Junior Engineers should possess 0-3 years of experience in mechanical engineering and design, including proficiency in 2D CAD and Microsoft Excel.

Specialized Knowledge:
Experience with naval engineering projects, particularly with the Naval Surface Warfare Center, is highly valued.
