Role: Fundraising Professional - Major Gifts

Reports to: Director, Donor Relations

Position Summary:

The Donor Relations Officer plays a pivotal role in crafting and executing strategies aimed at identifying, qualifying, engaging, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift donors. This position involves managing a diverse portfolio of donors and prospects, which includes individuals, foundations, and corporations, with a primary focus on securing substantial contributions from individual supporters. The Donor Relations Officer is also tasked with achieving annual revenue goals and will collaborate closely with the Director of Donor Relations to implement comprehensive strategies that align with financial objectives.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in fundraising is required.
  • Proficiency in office technology and software, including personal computers, smartphones, printers, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with constituent relationship management (CRM) systems.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid setting: Office and Community.
  • Typical Schedule: Monday to Friday, with flexibility from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, including occasional evenings or weekends.
  • Travel: Frequent local travel is required (must possess reliable transportation and valid Texas Driver License).

  • In-depth understanding of fundraising methodologies.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to persuade effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to build effective networks and collaborate with diverse groups.
  • Competence in public speaking and presenting to various audiences.
  • Proven track record of cultivating relationships that lead to financial support.
  • Commitment to fostering teamwork across departments and adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
