Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development Professional to join our team as a Major Gifts Officer. As a key member of our Development Team, you will be responsible for expanding financial support by identifying, engaging, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding current and prospective donors. Your primary goal will be to help meet our annual revenue target, manage major giving level donors, and lead fundraising strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Manage a Portfolio of Major Donors: Identify, research, and cultivate relationships with major donors, ensuring a strong understanding of their interests and philanthropic goals.
  • Execute Strategy for Donor Retention and Growth: Develop and implement tailored strategies to retain and grow our major donor base, ensuring a consistent flow of new and increased support.
  • Engage Prospects with Knowledgeable Asks: Develop and execute a comprehensive plan to engage prospects, including identifying their passions and interests, and making informed and strategic asks.
  • Identify Donors' Passions for Support Areas: Conduct research and analysis to identify areas of interest and passion among our major donors, ensuring alignment with our organization's mission and goals.
  • Create Strategic Pipeline of Major Gift Solicitations: Develop and maintain a strategic pipeline of major gift solicitations, ensuring a consistent flow of new and increased support.
  • Collaborate with Other Departments for Customized Solicitation Strategies: Work closely with other departments to develop and implement customized solicitation strategies, ensuring a comprehensive and coordinated approach to fundraising.
  • Track All Fundraising Activity: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all fundraising activity, including donor interactions, solicitations, and gifts received.
  • Acknowledge Donors through Recognition Events: Plan and execute recognition events and activities to acknowledge and thank our major donors for their support.
  • Implement Donor-Centric Communications: Develop and implement a donor-centric communication strategy, ensuring that all interactions with donors are personalized, timely, and effective.
  • Support Planned Giving Initiatives: Collaborate with our Planned Giving team to develop and implement strategies to encourage planned giving, including bequests, trusts, and other forms of planned giving.
  • Contribute to Fundraising Collateral and Campaigns: Develop and contribute to fundraising collateral, including proposals, reports, and other materials, to support our fundraising campaigns.
  • Coordinate Fundraising Efforts with Campaign Initiatives: Work closely with our Campaign team to coordinate fundraising efforts and ensure alignment with campaign goals and objectives.
  • Understand and Affirm the Mission of the Organization: Demonstrate a deep understanding of our organization's mission, values, and goals, and ensure that all fundraising efforts are aligned with these principles.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 Years' Experience in Non-Profit Advancement: Proven experience in non-profit fundraising, with a focus on major gifts and donor relationship management.
  • Demonstrated Success in Fundraising and Donor Relationship Management: A track record of success in fundraising and donor relationship management, with a strong understanding of donor motivations and behaviors.
  • Highly Organized, Creative, with Strong Interpersonal Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Social Media Platforms: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms, with the ability to leverage these tools to support fundraising efforts.
  • Self-Motivated, with Strong Work Ethic: A self-motivated and results-driven individual, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence.

Compensation:

Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000 annually. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid time off, disability, and retirement plan.
