Position Summary:
The Donor Relations Officer is tasked with the creation and execution of strategies aimed at identifying, qualifying, engaging, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift donors. This role involves managing a diverse portfolio of donors and prospects, which includes individuals, foundations, and corporations, with a primary focus on securing significant contributions from individual benefactors. The Officer will be accountable for achieving annual revenue goals and will collaborate closely with the Director of Donor Relations to implement comprehensive strategies that align with established financial objectives.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in fundraising is required.
- Proficient in general office technology and software, including personal computers, smartphones, printers, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with constituent relationship management (CRM) systems is advantageous.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid setting: Office and Community
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, with flexibility from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, including occasional evenings or weekends.
- Travel: Frequent local travel is required (must possess reliable transportation and valid Texas Driver License).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- In-depth understanding of fundraising methodologies.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with persuasive capabilities.
- Ability to maintain organization while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective networking skills with diverse populations.
- Competence in public speaking and presenting to groups.
- Proven track record of building relationships with supporters leading to financial contributions.
- Ability to perform duties that foster teamwork among departmental and agency staff, supporting the agency's philosophy, policies, and procedures.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Goal-oriented mindset.
