Job Overview

As a Procurement Specialist at ACADIANA PLASTICS MOLDING INC, you will play a crucial role in managing the acquisition of goods and services essential for our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchase Order Management: Prepare and manage purchase orders while soliciting competitive bid proposals.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and oversee contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure favorable terms.
  • Supplier Communication: Submit and monitor supplier questionnaires to maintain compliance and quality.
  • Material Requisition Handling: Receive and process material requisitions, ensuring necessary approvals are obtained.
  • Vendor Price Analysis: Evaluate vendors to identify the best pricing for requested materials.
  • Order Tracking: Keep management informed of order confirmations and lead times, tracking orders until they are received.
  • Inventory Management: Receive and document purchases, entering data into accounting systems and organizing paperwork.
  • Insurance Management: Enter and update Certificates of Insurance as required.
  • Material Transfers: Oversee the transfer of materials between plant and warehouse, ensuring documentation accuracy.
  • Raw Material Oversight: Purchase, track, and receive raw materials, maintaining accurate lot number records.
  • Inventory Audits: Conduct weekly physical counts of inventory items to ensure accuracy.
  • Quality Control: Manage non-compliant and damaged raw material inventory effectively.
  • Industry Knowledge: Maintain a basic understanding of raw materials and their applications.
  • Compliance Adherence: Understand and comply with SQF Food Safety Requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Professional Development: Attend industry meetings, trade shows, and conferences to stay updated on trends and supplier contacts.
  • System Implementation: Implement a barcoding system to enhance inventory management efficiency.
