Core Responsibilities:

  • Design control systems to support conveying applications, enhancing specific features of conveyor equipment through electronic controls.
  • Provide training to equipment manufacturers and clients globally on proprietary technology platforms related to controls and electrical systems.
  • Research, develop, and advocate for new control systems that augment the functionality and value of Laitram's equipment and conveyor solutions.
  • Write, implement, document, and troubleshoot software for equipment.
  • Manage budgeting, estimating, and pricing for control systems.
  • Oversee the procurement of electrical and control components for system integration.
  • Conduct value engineering for design, components, and materials.
  • Supervise on-site installation and commissioning of control systems alongside equipment installations.
  • Provide both remote and on-site troubleshooting for control systems.
  • Ensure successful completion of assigned projects adhering to quality standards, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Prepare 'As-built' drawings, control schematics, and bills of materials.
Qualifications:
  • Master of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering Systems, or a related field).
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in control systems.
  • Strong understanding of advanced Electrical & Mechanical Engineering concepts, with the ability to apply them to real-world electromechanical challenges.
  • Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming.
  • Expertise in industrial control circuit design and electrical panel design.
  • Experience in VFD programming.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NEC, UL, CE, and NFPA standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (10-40%) for on-site training and support.
  • Proven ability to thrive in an international work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs, as well as RSLogix500 and Studio5000 programming software.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley Drives.
  • Background in servomotor and servodrive application engineering.
  • Proficiency in a foreign language is advantageous.
