Key Responsibilities

  • Enter new orders into the system, ensuring accuracy in routings & documentation, material selection, pricing and delivery expectations
  • Handle order modifications, cancellations, and requests for expedited services in a timely manner and communicate quickly with the appropriate teams
  • Support the established production control order management practices
  • Respond timely to customer feasibility, lead-time and order quotation requests
  • Work with inventory management and procurement teams to check item availability and/or coordinate receipt of material to achieve customer order delivery expectations
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts with an emphasis on production control processes, at times lead small projects
  • Effectively communicate across multiple teams throughout the Machine Shop to promote smooth throughput

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, operations, finance, accounting or computer science, or a minimum of 2 years of similar work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a production scheduling and planning, customer service or sales role in a manufacturing environment
  • Worked within an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environment (e.g., Oracle)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints
  • Experience leading teams through cross functional tasks
  • Demonstrated ability of using a structured method to problem-solving
  • Be well organized with exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and other analytical tools
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle unexpected challenges effectively

Desired Qualifications

  • 4+ years of work experience in customer service, business development, or project management
  • Experience with Oracle ERP
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with production staff, engineers, and management
