Position Overview: Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join our Sector Human Resources team. This role will provide HR consultation, specialized knowledge, and collaboration with the Space Systems sector's functional leadership. We are looking for a proactive HR professional adept at cultivating strong business relationships, executing HR strategies aligned with overarching business objectives, and contributing to the sector's financial and operational goals. This position offers diverse HR Business Partner experiences, including engagement with sector leadership, collaboration with Division and Corporate HR teams, and mentorship aimed at fostering ongoing HR development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic HR partnership and consultation to Sector Staff & Corporate Function Sector leadership, focusing on organizational and staff development, performance management, employee relations, compensation, and recognition.
  • Assess organizational needs, craft practical and innovative solutions to enhance team performance, and ensure effective implementation and sustainability of these solutions.
  • Manage, prioritize, plan, schedule, and execute Sector/Corporate HR projects and initiatives.

Additional Duties:

  • Advise sector leadership on performance and conduct issues, conducting investigations, and collaborating with sector leadership, ER Center of Excellence (COE), Legal, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Support succession talent reviews, consulting with leadership to identify meaningful development opportunities for critical talent. Coach leadership on individual employee development, utilizing available Northrop Grumman resources and programs.
  • Analyze and present employee experience survey data and key themes to sector leadership, partnering to identify actions that address survey priorities and drive organizational change. Advocate for inclusion and engagement to enhance performance.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition (TA) team to forecast resource needs and ensure a robust and diverse talent pipeline. Partner with hiring managers and TA to interview and secure high-quality talent while ensuring a positive candidate experience.
  • Conduct compensation analyses and consult with sector leadership on recommendations for promotions, adjustments, leveling, offers, and incentives. Facilitate Compensation Planning and leverage our Pay for Performance philosophy.
  • Interpret and guide employees and leaders on HR policies and procedures, with familiarity in Federal and State laws.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Psychology, Labor Relations, Business, or a related field with 6+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience, including implementing HR programs and processes, preferably in a technology or engineering environment - OR - a Master's degree with 4+ years of the required experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering results, demonstrating initiative, continuous learning, adaptability to change, and a customer-focused approach.
  • Strong consulting skills, including the ability to analyze data to identify root causes, design practical and innovative solutions, and drive effective implementation.
  • Thought leader with experience managing multiple projects while navigating complex and competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, emphasizing the establishment of partnerships to influence and drive change.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a matrix organization with a complex customer group.

Salary Range: $88,700 - $133,100
This salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay, designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may qualify for Long Term Incentives. Northrop Grumman also provides a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plans, company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and personal business.
