Position Overview

The San Francisco Health Plan (SFHP) is seeking a dedicated HR professional to enhance the health outcomes of our communities. As a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), you will play a crucial role in aligning our organizational goals with the needs of our employees and management.

Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, the HRBP will be instrumental in fostering business partnerships that deliver value-added services to both leadership and staff, reflecting the strategic objectives of SFHP. You will be expected to maintain a comprehensive understanding of the business unit's financial status, strategic initiatives, culture, and competitive landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for designated departments regarding HR-related matters.
  • Facilitate weekly meetings with respective business units to address HR issues.
  • Provide consultation to leadership on HR strategies and best practices.
  • Analyze trends and metrics to develop effective solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Resolve intricate employee relations challenges, conducting thorough and impartial investigations.
  • Stay informed on legal requirements related to employee management to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
  • Offer daily performance management support, including coaching, counseling, and career development.
  • Collaborate with all levels of management and staff to enhance workplace relationships, morale, and retention.
  • Interpret HR policies and recommend improvements to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Advise on restructuring, workforce planning, and succession strategies.
  • Identify and assess training needs for assigned business units.
  • Participate in the evaluation of training programs to ensure alignment with objectives.
  • Work with the HR Operations team on benefits education and communication.
  • Administer HR policies and procedures for staff and leadership.
  • Assist with performance management processes and annual evaluations.
  • Collaborate with the HR Director to ensure compliance with work authorization requirements.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • At least 3 years of experience in human resources generalist or analyst roles, including knowledge of compensation practices and employment laws.
  • Experience in healthcare or health insurance environments is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is preferred or the ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.
  • Familiarity with benefits administration and compensation systems is advantageous.
