Position Overview:

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join the Sector Human Resources team. This role involves providing HR consultation, specialized knowledge, and collaboration with the Space Systems sector's functional leadership. We are looking for a proactive HR professional capable of establishing robust business relationships, executing HR strategies aligned with overarching business objectives, and contributing to the sector's financial and operational goals. This position offers diverse HR Business Partner experiences, including engagement with sector leadership, collaboration with Division and Corporate HR teams, and mentorship to foster ongoing HR development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic business partner and consultant to Sector Staff & Corporate Function Sector leadership, focusing on organizational and personnel development, performance management, employee relations, compensation, and recognition.
  • Assess organizational needs, devise practical and innovative solutions to enhance team performance, and ensure effective implementation and sustainability of these solutions.
  • Plan, prioritize, and execute Sector/Corporate HR projects and initiatives.

Additional Duties:

  • Advise sector leadership on performance and conduct matters, conducting investigations and collaborating with sector leadership, Employee Relations Center of Excellence (COE), Legal, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Support succession talent reviews and consult with leadership to create meaningful development experiences for identified critical talent, coaching leadership on individual employee development using available resources.
  • Analyze and present employee experience survey data to sector leadership, partnering to identify actions that address survey priorities and drive change, while advocating for inclusion and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition (TA) team to forecast resource needs and ensure a strong, diverse talent pipeline, partnering with hiring managers to secure high-quality talent.
  • Conduct compensation analyses and consult with sector leadership on recommendations for promotions, adjustments, and incentives.
  • Interpret and guide employees and leaders on HR policies and procedures, with familiarity in Federal and State laws.

This position operates on a standard 9/80 work schedule, allowing employees to work nine-hour days from Monday to Thursday and take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Psychology, Labor Relations, Business, or a related field with 6+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience, including implementing HR programs in a technology or engineering environment - OR - a Master's degree with 4+ years of the required experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering results, demonstrating initiative, continuous learning, adaptability, and customer focus.
  • Strong consulting skills, including data analysis to identify root causes and design practical solutions.
  • Experience managing multiple projects while navigating complex priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, emphasizing partnership and influence.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a matrix organization with a complex customer group.

Salary Range: $88,700 - $133,100

This salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay, designed to reward individual contributions and share in company results.
