Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a Principal Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) within the Sector Human Resources team. This role will deliver HR guidance, specialized knowledge, and collaboration to the Space Systems sector's functional leadership. We are in search of a proactive HR expert capable of cultivating strong business relationships, executing HR strategies aligned with overarching business objectives, and contributing to the sector's financial and operational goals. This position provides a diverse range of HR Business Partner experiences, including exposure to sector leadership, collaboration with Division and Corporate HR teams, and mentorship that fosters ongoing HR professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic HR partnership and consultation to Sector Staff & Corporate Function Sector leadership, focusing on organizational development, performance management, employee relations, compensation, and recognition programs.
  • Assess organizational needs, devise practical and innovative solutions to enhance team performance, and ensure effective implementation and sustainability of these solutions.
  • Plan, prioritize, and execute Sector/Corporate HR projects and initiatives.

Additional Duties:

  • Advise sector leadership on performance and conduct matters, conducting investigations and collaborating with sector leadership, Employee Relations Center of Excellence, Legal, and Employee Assistance Program.
  • Support succession planning and talent reviews; consult with leadership to define impactful development experiences for identified critical talent. Coach leadership on individual employee development, utilizing available Northrop Grumman resources and programs.
  • Analyze and present employee experience survey data to sector leadership, partnering to identify actions that address survey priorities and drive organizational change. Advocate for inclusion and engagement to enhance performance.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to forecast resource needs and ensure a robust and diverse talent pipeline. Partner with hiring managers to interview and secure high-quality talent while ensuring a positive candidate experience.
  • Conduct compensation analyses and provide recommendations to sector leadership regarding promotions, adjustments, and incentives. Facilitate Compensation Planning sessions while leveraging our Pay for Performance philosophy.
  • Interpret and guide employees and leaders on HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with Federal and State laws.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Psychology, Labor Relations, Business, or a related field with 6+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience, including implementing HR programs and processes, preferably in a technology or engineering environment - OR - a Master's degree with 4+ years of the required experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering results, demonstrating initiative, commitment to continuous learning, adaptability to change, and a customer-focused approach.
  • Strong consulting skills, including the ability to analyze data to identify root causes, design practical and innovative solutions, and drive effective implementation.
  • Thought leader with experience managing multiple projects while navigating complex and competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on building partnerships to influence and drive change.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a matrix organization with a complex customer base.

Salary Range: $88,700 - $133,100

This salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director roles may qualify for Long Term Incentives. Northrop Grumman offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plans, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for personal business.
