Position Overview: We are actively seeking a Senior Property Claims Field Adjuster. This role involves obtaining and documenting essential loss information from the insured. Under close supervision, you will investigate, assess, negotiate, and resolve homeowners' property and personal property claims, including adjustments to conclusion. This position typically involves low to high complexity claims that necessitate physical inspections.
Your Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough investigations and evaluations of property loss claims of moderate to high severity, both in the field and virtually.
- Engage with the insured or third parties, either virtually or in-person, to photograph and inspect all damaged properties.
- Determine the scope of repairs and prepare repair bids utilizing the Xactimate estimating system.
- Reach an agreed cost of repair with the insured and potentially with contractors.
- Oversee the repair process until completion.
- Ensure a comprehensive investigation into the cause of the loss, collaborating with experts as necessary.
- Finalize settlements and disburse payments for dwelling or other structure damages upon completion of coverage analysis.
- Manage all correspondence to maintain regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and experience is preferred.
- A minimum of four years of claims experience is essential, with a preferred focus on homeowner claims.
Key Skills:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in basic mathematics and computer skills, with a typing speed of at least 30 wpm.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- Experience managing multiple homeowner state policies and a solid understanding of fair claims settlement practices and building codes is preferred.
- Familiarity with the Xactimate repair estimating system.
- Prior experience conducting field inspections.
- Knowledge of home construction.
- Respect for diversity, demonstrated through effective communication with individuals from various backgrounds.
- Active participation in shaping company culture through engagement in employee resource groups and community service.
- Willingness to travel as required for the role, including local travel and occasional meetings.
- Commitment to fulfilling business needs, including investing additional time and assisting other teams.
