Your Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary adjuster when injury exposure is recognized, particularly for cases exceeding $25,000, which may involve significant and catastrophic injuries.
- Manage both represented and unrepresented first and third-party claims suitable for resolution with an independent settlement authority of up to $15,000.
- Handle claims across various states, including those requiring specific licenses (OK license necessary).
- Address Homeowner liability property damage claims and, when necessary, oversee low complexity claims during catastrophic events.
- May also manage first-party non-liability injury claims (Medical Payment and PIP).
Your Duties Include:
- Acting as the primary adjuster for identified injury exposures.
- Managing complex first and third-party auto, homeowners, and watercraft claims involving injuries, as well as Medical Payment and Uninsured Motorists claims, including Auto Death Benefit claims.
- Making coverage determinations and advising customers on the appropriate actions regarding coverage matters.
- Conducting in-depth investigations, which may involve interviewing witnesses, gathering and analyzing evidence (including medical records), and determining the necessity of independent medical examinations.
- Making liability assessments.
- Evaluating subrogation potential and initiating the initial notice of subrogation requests.
- Actively contributing to our company culture through participation in employee resource groups and community service.
- Upholding cultural norms by engaging in meaningful interactions, such as onboarding new team members and fostering relationships.
- Meeting business needs, which may entail dedicating additional time and assisting other teams.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, risk management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- 6-7 years of claims experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years in casualty claims.
Preferred Attributes:
- Knowledge of litigation processes for minor, moderate, and complex claims.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.
- Excellent decision-making skills and a customer service-oriented mindset.
- Comprehensive understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements along with CSAA IG claims policies and procedures.
- Exceptional communication skills that respect diverse backgrounds.
- Active participation in shaping our company culture through community involvement.
- Willingness to engage in meaningful interactions, such as assisting in onboarding new colleagues.
- Commitment to fulfilling business needs, which may include investing extra time and supporting other teams.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
