Position Overview: We are currently seeking a Senior Homeowner Claims Field Adjuster. This role involves remote work with local travel requirements.
Your Responsibilities:
- Gather and document essential loss information from the insured.
- Conduct thorough investigations, evaluations, negotiations, and settlements of homeowners' property claims, ranging from low to high complexity.
- Serve as the primary adjuster for all claims assigned at the Field Examiner level.
- Progress towards achieving the competency level of a Level 5 Homeowner Adjuster.
- May oversee and coordinate independent adjuster assignments.
Key Duties:
- Investigate and assess property loss claims of moderate to high severity, both in-person and virtually.
- Engage with the insured or third parties to photograph and inspect damaged properties.
- Determine the scope of repairs and prepare repair bids using the Xactimate estimating system.
- Reach an agreement on repair costs with the insured and possibly contractors.
- Ensure the repair process is followed through to completion.
- Collaborate with experts to thoroughly investigate and identify the cause of loss.
- Settle and process payments for dwelling or structure damages after completing coverage analysis.
- Manage all correspondence to ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and experience is preferred.
- A minimum of four years of claims experience is required, preferably with a focus on homeowner claims.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic math and computer skills, with typing ability of at least 30 wpm.
- Proven customer service experience.
- Familiarity with handling multiple homeowner state policies and understanding fair claims settlement practices.
- Knowledge of the Xactimate repair estimating system.
- Prior experience conducting field inspections.
- Understanding of home construction.
- Respect for diversity and excellent communication skills with individuals from various backgrounds.
- Active participation in shaping company culture.
- Willingness to travel as needed for the role.
