Casualty Claims Evaluator

Your Role:
As a designated adjuster, you will manage cases involving injury exposure. You will handle both represented and unrepresented claims, with independent settlement authority of up to $25,000. Your responsibilities will include managing claims across various states, including those requiring specific licenses.
Your Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary adjuster for identified injury exposures.
- Manage straightforward to moderately complex first and third-party auto liability claims.
- Handle first-party medical payment and PIP claims as necessary.
- Assist in activities related to catastrophic events, including simple homeowner claims.
- Conduct thorough investigations, negotiations, and settlements for injury claims valued under $25,000.
- Communicate effectively through various channels, including written, telephonic, and electronic methods.
- Self-manage claim assignments through designated queues in the claims system.
- Make informed coverage determinations and guide customers on appropriate actions.
- Conduct investigative tasks, such as interviewing witnesses and analyzing evidence.
- Occasionally represent the insured or company at settlement conferences or legal proceedings.
- Evaluate subrogation potential and initiate necessary requests.
- Develop negotiation strategies and make final settlement decisions within your authority.
Required Experience, Education, and Skills:
- High School diploma or GED, with a minimum of 3 years in a casualty claims role within the property and casualty insurance sector.
- 2-3 years of relevant claims experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Basic math and computer proficiency, with typing skills of at least 30 wpm.
- Proficient in oral and written communication, with a strong command of the English language.
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to complete necessary training courses.
- Understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Understanding of AAA claims policies and procedures is preferred.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as needed.
- Completion of courses to secure an Oklahoma adjuster's license.
