Your Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary adjuster for cases involving injury exposures exceeding $25,000, which may include significant and catastrophic injuries. Manage both represented and unrepresented first and third-party claims, with an independent settlement authority of up to $15,000. Handle claims across various states, including those requiring specific licenses (OK license needed). Address homeowner liability property damage claims and, when necessary, oversee low-complexity claims during catastrophic events. May also manage first-party non-liability injury claims (Medical Payment and PIP).
Your Duties Include:
- Acting as the lead adjuster when injury exposure is recognized.
- Managing complex first and third-party auto, homeowners, and watercraft claims involving injuries, as well as first-party Medical Payment and Uninsured Motorists claims, including ADB (Auto Death Benefit) claims, liability injury claims, personal injury/property claims, litigated claims, and out-of-state claims.
- Making coverage determinations and advising customers on the appropriate actions regarding coverage issues.
- Conducting thorough investigations, which may involve interviewing witnesses, gathering and analyzing evidence (including medical records), and determining the necessity of independent medical examinations.
- Making liability assessments.
- Evaluating subrogation potential and initiating the initial notice of subrogation requests.
- Actively contributing to our company culture through participation in employee resource groups and community service.
- Upholding cultural norms, including fostering relationships and supporting new team members.
- Meeting business needs, which may involve dedicating additional time and assisting other teams.
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS in business, insurance, risk management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- 6-7 years of claims experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years specifically in casualty claims.
Preferred Attributes:
- Developing expertise in handling litigation files for minor, moderate, and complex litigated claims.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional decision-making abilities and a customer service focus.
- Comprehensive understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements, as well as CSAA IG claims policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills that respect diverse backgrounds.
- Actively contributing to our company culture through engagement in employee resource groups and community service.
- Willingness to foster relationships and support new team members.
- Commitment to fulfilling business needs, including investing extra time and assisting other teams.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
