Principal Space Systems Specialist

Position Overview:
Are you eager to leverage your engineering expertise in a role that supports critical national security space initiatives? At Booz Allen Hamilton, we are seeking a seasoned professional who can seamlessly integrate technical acumen with strategic insight to fulfill mission requirements. Your understanding of the client's operational landscape will be vital in crafting effective systems tailored to their objectives.
As a member of our Strategic SATCOM team, you will collaborate with Booz Allen colleagues, various contractors, and U.S. Space Force personnel to innovate and implement advanced military satellite communication solutions. Your role will be pivotal in the engineering division, acting as the Lead Systems Integrator to ensure the successful alignment of space, ground, and cryptographic components with user specifications. You will provide direct assistance to the chief engineer and oversee the Booz Allen engineering team supporting the program office. Your innovative mindset and technical expertise will be essential in delivering capabilities that address emerging threats.
Qualifications:
- Over 7 years of experience in systems engineering or integration and testing within DoD space systems.
- More than 5 years of experience in Risk Management and Risk Processes.
- 5+ years of experience utilizing a Model-Based Systems Engineering or Digital Engineering approach for managing system definitions and technical baselines.
- Proficient in requirements development or verification.
- Familiarity with Confluence or JIRA.
- Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Able to work both collaboratively and independently, demonstrating initiative in completing complex tasks within cross-functional teams.
- Possession of a Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with military SATCOM systems.
- 5+ years of experience in space acquisition.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Capability to learn and resolve issues swiftly and creatively.
- TS/SCI clearance.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science.
- INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Certification (ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP).
- Agile Certification, including CSM, CPO, PMI-ACP, or ICP.
Clearance Requirements:
Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information; a Secret clearance is mandatory.

The compensation range for this position is influenced by various factors, including location, education, skills, competencies, and experience. The estimated salary range for this role is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 annually. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position and is part of Booz Allen's overall compensation package.
Work Environment:
Our people-first culture emphasizes flexibility and collaboration, whether in-person or remote. If this position is designated as remote or hybrid, you will occasionally work from a Booz Allen or client site. If onsite, you will engage with colleagues and clients in person as required by the role.
