Operations Specialist II

The Private Wealth Management division is dedicated to managing, safeguarding, and enhancing client assets. In the role of Business Operations Associate II, you will be responsible for executing operational tasks that ensure exceptional service delivery to Private Wealth Management clients. You will serve as the subject matter expert across various operational functions. Additionally, you will collaborate with other teams within Private Wealth to address technical inquiries, resolve issues, and support special initiatives. This position offers a hybrid work model (Tues/Wed/Thur on-site).
Key Responsibilities:
Execute operational procedures with precision and timeliness. Act as the innovation representative, providing training, managing releases, capturing firm perspectives, and establishing standardization. Serve as a liaison between front and middle offices and technology providers. Implement changes related to quality control, enhance user experience, and manage reporting. Monitor, maintain, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs). Handle daily transactions for assigned operational areas. Collaborate with Senior Associates to address complex operational challenges and escalations. Ensure a positive service experience for internal clients that consistently exceeds expectations. Foster and maintain internal relationships to promote continuous process improvement. Utilize Private Wealth technologies to manage transactions and fulfill responsibilities. Comprehend overall business needs and identify value-added services and experiences for clients and associates. Review job-related activities to ensure adequate controls are in place to prevent errors, fraud, and omissions. Adhere to corporate policies, operational guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Financial Services. Ability to solve complex problems effectively. Strong attention to detail while maintaining a broad perspective. Highly organized with the capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Familiarity with operational best practices in financial services and a talent for creating exceptional client experiences. Ability to balance client-focused service with business risk management. Capacity to work independently while collaborating with others to achieve client goals. Analytical problem solver with a creative approach to challenges. General knowledge of new account openings, investments, client onboarding, and cash management. Proficient in organizing and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines. Excellent written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Familiarity with UMB custody and clearing platforms such as SEI and Fidelity Wealthscape.Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated client service experience in a wealth management setting. Knowledge of Personal Trust, Custody, and Investment management services and account types. Understanding of complex account types. Experience handling a diverse range of client situations and inquiries. Familiarity with compliance regulations in wealth management. Proficiency with eMoney client portal and financial planning software. Experience with Workday, Peoplesoft, Archer, Skillport, and Hyperion. Proficient in Salesforce CRM software.Compensation:
Minimum: $44, Maximum: $103,820.00The compensation range listed reflects UMB's standard for this position, though actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
