Prime Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Radiologic Technologist II (CT Specialist) to join our team at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing exceptional patient care by utilizing your expertise in operating CT scanners and X-ray machines.

As a CT Specialist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality images of patients' internal organs and tissues to assist healthcare providers in diagnosing medical conditions and developing effective treatment plans. Your commitment to accuracy, attention to detail, and patient-centered approach will contribute significantly to our mission of delivering compassionate and comprehensive care.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for CT scans and X-ray procedures, ensuring proper positioning and providing clear explanations of the process. Address any concerns or questions with empathy and professionalism.
  • Operate CT scanners and X-ray machines to obtain precise images of targeted body parts, adjusting settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure. Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols at all times.
  • Monitor patients throughout procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety. Provide support and reassurance as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with radiologists by assisting in the interpretation of images produced from CT exams. You may also assist in administering contrast agents or performing specific procedures as directed.
  • Maintain the quality assurance of CT scanners and X-ray machines, ensuring they function properly and produce accurate images. Conduct routine inspections and follow established protocols for maintenance and repair.
  • Manage radiologic supplies, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and adhere to infection control and hygiene standards.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement (PI) and Quality Control (QC) activities to enhance the quality of patient care. Contribute to maintaining Performance Improvement Programs (PIP).
Qualifications:
  • Current licensure and fluoroscopy permit as required by State regulations.
  • Appropriate national certifications in two modalities, including CT certification and one other modality or ARRT-R (X-ray) with a willingness to learn CT.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) accreditation from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Familiarity with State and Federal regulations governing radiology practices.
  • Graduation from an accredited radiology technology program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of experience in acute clinical radiography.
  • Graduation from a program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
