The role of the Acquisition Specialist II is to proficiently identify and procure goods, materials, and components for the Stuppy organization through thoroughly vetted and selected suppliers, ensuring the best possible pricing available in the market. This position is responsible for administering the company's purchasing and procurement processes, practices, and principles to guarantee that all acquired goods, materials, and components meet the required specifications and quality standards. The successful execution of this role directly supports the mission and values of Stuppy, contributing to collaborative decision-making aimed at achieving the organization's shared objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilizes Stuppy purchasing systems to establish vendors, suppliers, and customers for effective procurement, replenishment, and tracking.
- Maintains comprehensive records of job activities, pricing data, and product specifications within the purchasing systems to ensure compliance with service and supply agreements.
- Negotiates purchasing contracts, pricing, and terms, monitoring adherence to actual performance.
- Prepares purchase orders and reconciles them, ensuring timely receipt of goods, materials, and components.
- Addresses vendor discrepancies and implements change orders as needed to meet product schedules punctually.
- Coordinates and communicates with various stakeholders, including accounting and production teams, regarding the production workflow.
- Develops and implements sourcing strategies to assess and ensure that vendors, materials, and components align with Stuppy standards.
- Manages vendor relationships and evaluates supplier performance at scheduled intervals.
- Negotiates contracts and service agreements with suppliers, subject to the approval of the purchasing manager or designated authority.
- Ensures timely replenishment of goods, materials, and components based on recommendations from the ERP system.
- Acts as a mentor to Purchasing Agent I, auditing their work and providing opportunities for professional development.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- 2-5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement capacity.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with ERP software; familiarity with Kinetic (Epicor) is advantageous.
- Comprehensive understanding of the procurement process and its administration.
- Strong attention to detail and advanced problem-solving abilities.
- Capacity to manage multiple processes while adapting to changing priorities.
- Driven by accountability, with a focus on metrics and objective performance standards.
- Adept at making data-driven decisions based on substantial and objective information.
- Demonstrated self-accountability and efficiency in executing work tasks.
