Position Overview:

Under the guidance of the Mobile Warehousing and Transportation Manager, the Fleet Operations Specialist is responsible for the thorough inspection of vehicles and generators, ensuring timely maintenance completion. This role includes advising management on vehicle maintenance issues, compliance with DOT regulations, and adherence to OSHA standards. The specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining safety standards across all vehicle operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Interprets and complies with all relevant regulatory standards, including DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA.
  • Ensures organizational adherence to DOT regulations, including the accuracy of DOT inspections.
  • Collects, reviews, and organizes all fleet documentation, addressing any discrepancies with management as necessary.
  • Coordinates and/or performs vehicle maintenance, including unplanned repairs, for all leased or owned vehicles, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment in all vehicle-related areas.
  • Acts as a driver for blood collection operations as required.

Additional Functions:

  • Ensures completion of preventative and emergency vehicle maintenance to reduce operational interruptions.
  • Collaborates with the Mobile Packing Supervisor to guarantee safe and secure mobile load outs.
  • Prepares vehicles for mobile operations, including loading necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Delivers vehicles, equipment, and supplies to mobile sites as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge:

  • Fundamental understanding of diesel and gasoline engine repair.
  • Familiarity with business practices, particularly record-keeping in compliance with DOT requirements.
  • Awareness of OSHA regulations.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma is required; additional training or education is preferred.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in vehicle maintenance and/or driving is preferred.

Licenses / Certifications:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid operator's license (MO CDL class B, KS CDL class B).
  • Airbrake endorsement is preferred.
