Job Description

Job Summary:

The Early Head Start Program Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that Reach DANE complies with regulations and performance standards for the Early Head Start program. This role will involve tracking program compliance information, running scheduled reports, and communicating regularly with the Early Head Start team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with tracking program compliance information and running scheduled reports
  • Communicate regularly with the Early Head Start team to ensure compliance across all aspects of the program
  • Support the Madison and Stoughton Early Head Start Home Based programs
  • Plan and execute socializations and events, including preparation of materials, transportation, and nutrition
  • Organize and submit items for purchase orders
  • Deliver and pick up items from various sites
  • Maintain curricular resources for home visits
  • Provide general office support at EHS locations
  • Complete periodic special projects
  • Develop newsletters and other written materials
  • Assist families, Family Advocates, and EHS Home Based Managers

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED required; job-related Associate's degree is preferred
  • Coursework and/or experience in 0-3 education, human development, and/or health services preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish) skills, particularly spoken, desired but not required
  • Experience developing and maintaining records and a record system required
  • Knowledge and experience with the Head Start program and performance standards preferred
  • Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision
  • Ability to understand office systems and procedures and utilize them in support of overall program compliance, with strong emphasis on record keeping and required tracking
  • Strong computer literacy and 2 to 3 years of work experience in Microsoft Office programs, Outlook, Google – Gmail, Sheets, Drive, Docs, Windows Media, Paint, and the internet
  • Accurate editing and key boarding skills (50 wpm)
  • Experience with and knowledge of database systems
  • Experience with low-income, multicultural families, and knowledge of needs of low-income families is desirable
  • Must be detail-oriented and maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Must have the ability to determine workload priority and work independently
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, problem solve, and effectively handle multiple tasks
  • Effective communication skills, written, verbal, and listening; ability to communicate professionally and effectively with parents, staff, and management on a daily basis
  • Must be available for occasional evening work to support program needs
  • Valid Driver's license and adequate liability insurance
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Successfully pass Background Check prior to employment
