EHS Specialist I

The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist is a critical member of the Catalent team, responsible for ensuring the implementation of effective EHS programs that meet all regulatory requirements. This role works closely with various departments to ensure safety is integrated into daily work plans and schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the execution of an effective EHS program that meets all regulatory requirements.
- Draft necessary Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) covering EHS-related activities.
- Provide training on EHS procedures and policies.
- Assist in ensuring audit program is implemented and followed.
- Conduct and update risk assessments with assistance from the EHS Manager.
- Partner with the EHS Manager to coordinate the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) program.
- Conduct annual agency reporting with assistance from the EHS Manager.
- Lead the Safety Committee members through scheduled monthly meetings and help conduct monthly site audits.
- Lead the Safety Committee in developing metrics for measuring audit response time and establishing timelines for implementing various EHS programs.
- Implement Continuous Improvement opportunities as identified.
- Ensure contractor EHS compliance and work with various departments.
- Conduct incident reporting with workers' compensation and annual reporting to OSHA.
Requirements:
- M.S./M.A. in EHS, Biotechnology, or related field with no prior experience; or
- B.S./B.A. in EHS, Biotechnology, or related field with minimum of 3 years experience in related field; or
- Associates Degree/Certificate/Diploma in EHS or related field with minimum of 4 years experience in related field; or
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years experience in related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (ASP, CSP, CIH) a plus.
- OSHA reporting requirements.
- Understanding of GMP regulations, documentation, and requirements.
- Hazardous waste management experience.
- Understanding interaction procedures with various regulatory agencies.
- Familiar with ISO 45001 Standard implementation and program maintenance.
