Job Overview

Corporate Paralegal

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to become a vital member of our expanding legal team. The successful candidate will have a collaborative spirit and a focus on growth, with substantial experience in supporting corporate, transactional, and litigation activities, as well as enhancing departmental processes and workflows.

Key Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in law or a related discipline; completion of a paralegal studies certificate is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience assisting attorneys, including at least 1 year in an in-house capacity.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • Proven capacity to independently advance projects by securing necessary support from various stakeholders in a cross-functional environment.
  • Familiarity with legal research methodologies to assist the legal department.
  • Experience in contract management, including administration of a Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform.
  • Proficient in implementing and utilizing legal technology solutions (e.g., Everlaw, ContractPod, Legal Bill Review, Adobe Sign).
  • Expertise in e-Discovery processes, including data extraction, export, and the use of e-Discovery software tools.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with other departments (e.g., finance, sales, regulatory, IT) to achieve objectives and deliver impactful results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and experienced with contract/data management and e-billing software.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement tools within the legal department to enhance existing practices, including training for contract/NDA workflows and document management, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Assist with litigation tasks, including e-Discovery record collection using relevant software tools.
  • Support budget management and optimize workflows within the legal department, ensuring compliance with billing guidelines and managing vendor invoice approvals.
  • Facilitate the contract management process, utilizing CLM tools for intake, assignment, status tracking, version control, execution, and renewals.
  • Generate reports, charts, and spreadsheets as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, IT, regulatory, and finance.
  • Oversee the systematic storage, tracking, and destruction of business documents and records.
  • Lead strategic and operational initiatives, ensuring timely and budget-conscious results.

Position Overview

  • This role is essential for the legal team, contributing significantly to the company's growth. The ideal candidate will have in-house experience in corporate matters, legal processes, invoice management, document organization, and scalable process development.
  • You will create a strategic roadmap addressing process improvements, technology integration, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. As a strategic thinker, you will maintain a broad perspective while planning for the legal department's continuous evolution.
  • This position offers a high degree of autonomy, allowing you to develop new processes, identify and rectify gaps, and enhance efficiency.
