Role Summary: As a Personal Injury Legal Assistant at The Ledger Law Firm, you will be instrumental in assisting our attorneys with the preparation and oversight of personal injury cases. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with clients, gathering and organizing pertinent information, drafting legal documents, and supporting case preparation to facilitate an efficient legal process.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Case Coordination: Support attorneys in managing case loads, including organizing case files, monitoring deadlines, and maintaining communication with clients, healthcare providers, and experts.
  • Document Drafting: Prepare, review, and file legal documents such as complaints, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
  • Evidence Collection: Gather and organize evidence, including medical records, accident reports, witness statements, and expert evaluations.
  • Client Communication: Interact with clients to collect information, provide updates, and address questions. Ensure clients are informed throughout the legal process.
  • Legal Research: Conduct legal research and compile summaries of findings to support case strategies and litigation efforts.
  • Court Submissions: Prepare and file documents with courts and administrative bodies, ensuring adherence to procedural requirements.
  • Discovery Assistance: Aid in managing discovery requests, responses, and related documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related discipline. Paralegal certification is advantageous.
  • Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in personal injury law.
  • Skills: Exceptional organizational abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to handle multiple tasks and deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of personal injury litigation processes, legal research, and case management software.
  • Attributes: Proven ability to work independently, think critically, and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
